Job Description

To support our ongoing hiring demands, Retronix is seeking an outstanding individual for a Material Requirement Planning Controller/Technical Buyer role based within Dublin.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the team you will be responsible for Administration of the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) function within the ERP system, Project parts planning, buying and Inventory control
  • Work with both manufacturing and purchasing managers on requirements planning and MRP setup within the ERP system
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting on material availability
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure that material and production orders are available in a timely manner
  • Manage escalations with supplier manufacturing and compliance issues to achieve production schedules
  • Developing positive supplier relationships aligned to business objectives and ensure adherence to contractual commitments
  • Compliance with internal policies, procedures and external governance

Skills and Requirements:

  • Third level diploma or degree qualified in a Business or Supply Chain discipline. Qualified to a related qualification (APICS, IIPMM etc)
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience in a Supply Chain environment (purchasing/planning/inventory control)
  • Working knowledge of MPS and MRP is required
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and planning including supplier escalations and relationship building is required
  • Demonstrated expert level competency in MS Access, Excel, ERP systems with SQL database knowledge is a strong plus
  • Good communicator and inter-personal skills with ability to work on own initiative with a strong customer service outlook
  • Knowledge of using and drafting SOPs and operating to a Quality System within a regulated environment
  • Shows flexibility and is able to adapt to changing requirements, working well with a cross functional team in multiple locations
  • Ensure the timely placement of all transactions (PO's/SO's) in support of business activities
  • Expedite released PO's, maintain PO dates and resolve PO discrepancies
  • Work with data maintenance team to ensure correct new product set-up and product data settings are maintained and updated within Business Planning System Team, including, but not limited to Item Master, DRP/MRP
  • Cycle counting and inventory (stock-take) management, issuing of material to production
  • Shipping orders on time to meet customer requirements and ability to work with freight companies and 3rd parties to resolve blocking issues
  • Gather and analyse data to solve complex problems and evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making
  • Working knowledge of EU Export controls and experience of working with Harmonized Tariff Codes, customs clearance issues and adherence to International trade compliance will be required

Advantageous Supplementary Skills:

  • Understand project engineering environment working with PDM systems
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials structures and ERP system functionality for MRP
  • Experience of working in fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to international trade environment would be advantageous
  • Experience working in ISO9000 environment
