Founder

With Scottish origins, Retronix was founded in 1993 by Tony Boswell who is a true visionary and innovator.  Following the success of Retronix in the Electronics Manufacturing industry, Tony expanded his business expertise into providing engineering services to support the semiconductor industry and founded the Retronix Semiconductor business in 2004.  The business has seen significant growth globally since its launch. His focus is on driving Retronix Semiconductor’s growth while upholding our reputation for trust, transparency, and operational excellence. Tony is passionate about exploring new technologies, investing in our people, and expanding our global footprint to address the semiconductor industry’s evolving challenges. 

Kathleen Boswell

Founder

Our founder Kathleen brings a strong background in finance, combining strategic insight with a passion for operational excellence. With over three decades experience of managing business accounts, she has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and stability. Her expertise ensures that every aspect of the business not only meets but consistently upholds the highest financial standards. Guided by a commitment to accountability and long-term success, Kathleen continues to drive the company’s vision of delivering innovative engineering solutions while maintaining the values of a family-owned enterprise.

Julie Boswell

CEO

Julie joined Retronix Semiconductor in 2023, bringing with her an impressive wealth of international working experience in Global Supply Chain & Operations from world leading brands in Electronics, Retail, Enterprise Consulting and Whisky sectors. Combined with her excellent personal approach with employees at all levels of the company, under Julie’s leadership, Retronix Semiconductor has reinforced its position as a trusted engineering solutions partner and the supplier of choice for our customers.

Global Strategic Business Manager

Alex joined Retronix Semiconductor in January 2025, bringing over 30 years of experience from a distinguished career in the semiconductor industry. With proven expertise in leadership, innovation, and operational excellence, Alex plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing key business strategies and driving new business development initiatives. His focus is on enhancing and scaling existing operations, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering high-quality, flexible, cost-efficient, and consistent solutions for both existing and new customers. He is driving the growth of world-class services and solutions across all customers and all sites, keeping Retronix Semiconductor at the forefront of an ever-changing industry. 

Cathal Scott

Global Operations Strategy Manager

With over 30 years of management experience, Cathal brings a proven track record in driving operational excellence, leading high-performing teams, and delivering measurable business results. His expertise spans People Management, Operations Capability, Supplier Management, Supply Chain, Organisational Change, and Lean principles.

 

Cathal is passionate about developing motivated, engaged teams through clear, connected strategies that align with business objectives and deliver sustainable bottom-line impact. He has successfully led transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen supplier relationships, and enhance customer satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Across 25 years in senior people management roles, Cathal has consistently fostered environments where individuals can leverage their strengths to achieve organisational goals. His approach blends strategic vision with hands-on leadership, ensuring integrated, focused execution that drives growth and long-term success.

Cathal’s ideal leadership philosophy is simple: empower people, optimise processes, and deliver results that matter.

Tony Aston

Senior Engineering Project Manager

Tony joined Retronix Semiconductor in 2025. With an impressive 25 years of experience at Intel, Tony brings unmatched expertise in leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. Tony will drive key initiatives that will elevate the quality, efficiency, and consistency of the services we provide. His focus will be on optimizing our approach to tool moves, identifying new growth opportunities, and ensuring the seamless delivery of world-class solutions across all sites.  

Brian Fraser

Head Of Engineering

Brian joined Retronix Semiconductor in 2023, he has 30+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer in the semiconductor industry. He has built up a wealth of experience leading and working on large engineering projects globally. Brian provides strategic technical leadership and direction by leveraging his technical knowledge of OEM products and an understanding of the customer’s long-term product strategy. 

Katie Wilson

Global Resourcing Manager

Katie joined Retronix Semiconductor in 2018 as Global Resourcing Manager and brings over 12 years of experience in the recruitment industry. She leads a team of technical recruiters worldwide to successfully fulfil contracts across multiple regions. By partnering closely with local site managers, Katie ensures the timely delivery of high-quality candidates, aligning talent acquisition with business needs while driving efficiency and consistency in recruitment processes.

Steven Craig

Global Finance Manager

Steven joined us in October 2025 and is based at our Scotland HQ. Steven leads our global finance operations, bringing a strong focus on innovation, operational efficiency and sustainable growth. With extensive experience in financial leadership and strategic planning, he plays a key role in strengthening our Global Capabilities and supporting the continued development of our international operations.

Ciarán Donnelly

EU Operations Manager.

Ciarán joined Retronix Semiconductor in 2018 as a member of the Ireland Operations Management team ensuring our customers achieved key technological milestones. Ciarán and his team have been recognised as world class in project execution by one of our major clients. He takes a measured approach to effective problem-solving, is passionate about embracing change, building good relationships whilst maintaining the highest standards to ensure continued success and sustainable growth for the Company.
